How to Send FilmFilm Scanning
We’ve made a name for ourselves as the partner of choice for demanding film photographers. To get there we rely on one of the most sophisticated pieces of technology available: the human eye. Our experts look closely at your images, frame-by-frame, and make sure our scans are done consistently—and consistently well.
Richard creates small, medium, or large scans on the Noritsu or Frontier (custom drum scans or flatbed scans also available).
Available Scan Sizes
- Small | 3 – 5mb, approx. 1025x1450 pixels or higher | Good for online and small prints.
- Medium | 12 – 18mb, approx. 2050x2790 pixels or higher | Most popular! Best for all around work.
- Large | 30 – 45mb, approx. 3350x4550 pixels or higher | For special large print projects.

Film Report
Scans come with Richard's Film Report! This document helps you understand why your images look like they do and identifies issues with your film or camera (and how to fix them).
Roll Numbering
Free roll numbering services available so that film images are scanned in the order you shot them, giving more consistent results from frame to frame.
Bag Recycling
Plastic zip bags that you send your film in will be sent back to you with your developed film so that you can use them again—it’s just our little way of making film “greener”.
Photo Orientation
Your image files are rotated to the correct orientation—so horizontal shots will come as horizontal files, and vertical shots will come as vertical files.
Recommended for new photographers. Scans are created on our premium Noritsu scanner. The color balance and lightness/darkness of images is chosen by our expert technicians.
